I have no wisdom for you – no one does,
but when we sit together,
we create conditions for Wisdom to come in;
perhaps she will leave a gift.

Our task as spiritual directors is to help ourselves and our directees to remember who we are – body-spirit beings that incarnate the Divine spark in the world. We enter this space of remembering and listen – to each other and to Spirit.

I view spiritual direction through the lens of the Enneagram. I have studied the Enneagram with Carol Ann Gotch and David Walsh since 2002. I completed the residency-based workshop series Enntrain: Embodied and Inspirited Advanced Enneagram Training in 2012 and graduated from the Prairie Jubilee Program in 2014. I currently serve on the Prairie Jubilee Contemplative Council.

My background is in the Christian tradition, mostly in the Mennonite church, but also some affiliation with Anglicanism. I am happy to work with those of other spiritual traditions or none.

I enjoy the liturgical tradition of choral evensong and belong to a choir that has sung in a number of the cathedrals of England. I feel close to Spirit while singing, but also during sitting meditation and centering prayer and when I am in nature, either photographing the beauty of landscapes and plant life or observing the night sky.

In 2017, I retired from 31 years of teaching Electronics Technology, mostly in Toronto and Winnipeg, but also for shorter periods in Bendigo, Australia and Shenyang, China. One part of teaching I always enjoyed was writing, including several editions of a textbook on digital electronics. I continue to write about the Enneagram and contemplative living at greaterlight.ca.

I meet people for spiritual direction face-to-face in Winnipeg (public health orders permitting), by video chat, or by phone.
